Welcome to the official website of the High commission of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Mozambique. On behalf of all staff in the Mission, it is my great pleasure to warmly welcome you to the site and hope that you find it both resourceful and interactive.
As high commissioner, I am honored to represent the Government and great people of Kenya in the Republic of Mozambique as we all strive to foster excellent diplomatic and socio-economic relations with the Government and people of the Republic of Mozambique. Our Mission is keenly aware of its unique role as a bridge between our two peoples and Governments as we promote enduring friendship. Mutual understanding, people-to-people collaboration.

Background
Kenya and Mozambique have maintained warm and cordial relations since establishing their diplomatic relations in 1975. Our countries have, however, maintained numerous cultural interactions for many centuries culminating into the migration of the Makonde ethnic group from Mozambique to Kenya in the 1950’s.
So cordial are the people to people ties that the Makonde are now officially recognized as the 43rd tribe of Kenya and constitute part of the Kenyan citizenry since 2017. At the official level, both countries have Resident Diplomatic representation in each other’s capitals.
The Kenya High Commission to Mozambique was officially inaugurated in November 2021 with its first resident High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique being H.E. Amb. Paul Kamweru Ndung’u since 20 th July 2022. The High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of Kenya is H.E. Amb. Jeronimo Chivavi.
